A broader application of guidance to the school program is needed in most of our school systems today. Guidance consistent with democratic philosophy becomes a process through which the junior high school seeks to help boys and girls, through democratic procedures, to solve problems which are meaningful and of concern to them. A program of guidance should be designed to provide the students with educational, vocational, social, and civic information.
