Abstract

These four contemporary novels don’t share just the symbolic name of their main characters, Daniel. Richard Parra, Juan Marsé, José Manuel Caballero Bonald and Miguel Delibes check the most important features about the bildungsroman genre, and by their roles they will revisit the experiences and feelings that finish the childhood and inaugurate the adult age by knowing themselves, building friendship, pain and hurt, love and death. Everyone of them will require a coordinate in order to offer one place to the time (it’s named cronotopo), having many of the keys of the lyric, autobiographic and/or neonaturaliste romance (one of the several faces of the Spanish novel along the last decade of the past twentyth century).Las cuatro novelas contemporáneas no sólo comparten la onomástica de sus protagonistas. Desde el antropónimo Daniel y la actualización lírica del libro homónimo veterotestamentario, los personajes de Richard Parra, Juan Marsé, José Manuel Caballero Bonald y Miguel Delibes revisan las directrices del bildungsroman reproduciendo las experiencias iniciáticas que clausuran la infancia e inauguran la edad adulta mediante la toma de consciencia del yo, la amistad, el dolor, el amor erotizado y la muerte. Cada una de ellas requerirá coordenadas que somaticen el tiempo hasta constituir diferentes cronotopos que sobredimensionen el instante y revelen al protagonista distintas facies de toda existencia humana, bien en clave lírica, autobiográfica o neonaturalista y próxima al Realismo sucio finisecular del (siglo) x
