Sea Grant 603-749-1565February 13, 2003DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New HampshireGreat Bay Coast Watch (GBCW) is looking fordedicated individuals to help monitor the water qualityof Great Bay and the New Hampshire coast. A nationally recognizedprogram, GBCW is NewHampshire's leadingcitizen volunteer groupfor monitoring waterquality in salt water andestuarine systems. Thewatch needs volunteersfor its upcomingsampling season set tobegin in early March.GBCW volunteer teamssample water quality at21 sites along theSeacoast and aroundGreat Bay monthly fromMarch through October. Additional teams monitorphytoplankton populations on a weekly basis at fivecoastal sites and one offshore site.
