Nathanson is known for ahybrid stage show of singing and stand-up comedy. Tickets at the door are $5 for nonstudentsand free for students.Friday, Oct. 10, the UNH women's soccer team will play Albany in Bremner Field, behind theField House. The traditional Blue and White Parade, complete with student-made floats, willproceed from C-Lot to Cowell Stadium starting at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m., a pep rally, withperformances by a capella groups and the UNH Dance Team, and the introduction of athletes andcoaches, will be held in the Field House. A fireworks display will follow in Cowell Stadium ataround 8:30 p.m. There is no charge for admission.Comedian Dane Cook will perform in the Field House Friday at 10 p.m. He is a frequent gueston “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Late LateShow with Craig Kilborn.” Tickets are $4 for students and $10 for nonstudents and are availablefrom the ticket office in the Memorial Union Building. Ticket office hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.;phone (603) 862-2290 and Web site http://www.unhmub.com/ticket/.Activities on Saturday, Oct. 11, begin with a 5K road race. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. in themain lobby of the Whittemore Center, and the race starts at 9 a.m. in front of the Field House.Children ages 7 and under may enter the quarter-mile Fun Run. Pre-race entry fee (before Oct. 8)is $10; the price on the day of the race is $12. T-shirts will be awarded to the first 250 registered.For the Fun Run, there is no registration fee but cans of food for a local food pantry will beaccepted. Also from 9:30a.m. to noon will be traditional tailgating in Boulder Field. A ticket to the football game isrequired for entry to the tailgating areas, and the fee for both areas is $5 per car. Officialfunctions will be held in Upper Field.The UNH Alumni Association's big tent will welcome all Homecoming alumni and friends from10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the corner of Main Street and Edgewood Road (H Lot). A free picnic-styleluncheon will be offered from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. UNH music professor Dave Seiler's jazzgroup will perform. In New Hampshire Hall next door, an artisans' and craftsmen's fair will beheld with more than 30 booths featuring New Hampshire-made products. The fair is presented inpartnership with New Hampshire Stories. UNH logo items, including clothing and gifts, will alsobe for sale.The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) Society, including mechanicalengineering alumni, will hold a tailgating gathering at the south end of Boulder Field starting at10 a.m. Hamburgers, hot dogs and cold drinks will be provided. For tickets,call Ticketmaster at (603) 868-7300 or buy tickets at the Field House ticket window or parkinglot.After the game, the UNH Alumni Association's Fifth Quarter reception will be held under thetent at Main Street and Edgewood Road (H Lot) from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Free refreshments will beavailable and there will be an opportunity to meet the football players and coaches.Saturday evening, the UNH men's hockey team will play Vermont at 7 p.m. in the WhittemoreCenter. At 8 p.m.,a Homecoming Benefit Concert will be presented by three student a capella groups -- the NewHampshire Gentlemen, the Notables and Alabaster Blue -- in the Strafford Room of the MUB.Tickets at the door are $5 for students and $7 for nonstudents. A free outdoor movie, BruceAlmighty, starring Jim Carrey, will be presented on the Thompson Hall lawn after the hockeygame, around 10 p.m.On Sunday, Oct. 12, Homecoming festivities continue with the 14th annual Parent-AlumniSailing Regatta for UNH Sailing Team members, parents and alumni at 10 a.m. on Mendum'sPond in Barrington. Registration is at 9 a.m. The cost is $20 and includes lunch and acommemorative T-shirt.
