This collection consists mostly of books collected by Dr. Jack Holt Boger (1922-2008) and the Boger family. Included in the collection is former Winthrop Professor and Administrator (1965-1985), Dr. Jack Boger’s graduate thesis titled, An Inquiry into Life Certification of Teachers and a1973 Citadel yearbook (The Sphinx) that belonged to his son, Thomas Alcott Boger (1951-1976). The collection also consists of journals written by W.W. Hall of Lilly Chapel, Madison County, Ohio from 1892 to 1905. W.W. Hall was related to Jack’s wife (June Durrant Boger, 1920-2013) through her mother Edna Wayne Hall Durrant and was possibly her grandfather. Also, included in the collection is a journal kept by Jack Holt Boger while he served as Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Wasatch during WWII from June 27, 1944 through October 20, 1944. HALL JOURNALS       1892-1893, 1896, 1905- This series includes threes journals relating penned by W.W. Hall of Lilly Chapel,  1906 Madison County, Ohio from 1892-1906. Most of the entries details the weather and includes the temperature for the day, but also includes some local happenings. Several entries include accounting notes. Lilly Chapel in now an unincorporated community in Fairfield Township, Madison County, Ohio. W.W. Hall was most likely the grandfather of Jack Boger’s wife, June Durrant Boger (1920-2013). June’s mother was Edna Wayne Hall Durrant.  1 2 U.S.S. WASATCH (AGC-9) DIARY      June 27, 1944-Oct. 18,  This series consists of a diary written on U.S.S. Wasatch letterhead during WWII by  1944 Dr. Jack Holt Boger, Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. The diary starts on June 27, 1944 when the U.S.S. Wastach left Norfolk Naval Shipyard and follows the author’s experiences aboard the ship through October 18, 1944 in the Philippines. The USS Wasatch was a Mount McKinley-class amphibious force command ship that was commissioned on May 20, 1944 and decommissioned on August 30, 1946.  1 -- JACK HOLT BOGER THESIS       1946 This series consists of Jack Holt Boger’s graduate thesis titled, An Inquiry into Life Certification of Teachers: A Thesis Presented to the Graduate Faculty of the University of Virginia in Candidacy for the Degree of Master of Arts, August 1946.  1 -- THOMAS ALCOTT BOGER YEARBOOK      1973 This series consists of a 1973 Citadel Yearbook titled The Sphinx that belonged to Lt.
