Description of pharmaceutical interventions implemented during the development of a pharmacotherapy follow up service to patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
El objetivo de este trabajo fue describir las intervenciones farmacéuticas implementadas durante el desarrollo de un servicio
de seguimiento farmacoterapéutico a 30 pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2, asistidos en la Farmacia Principal Municipal
Santiago de Cuba, el cual fue realizado a través de un estudio prospectivo y de intervención, en el período comprendido desde
noviembre del 2009 hasta febrero del 2010, siguiendo la metodología Dáder actualizada. Se detectaron 40 sospechas y
resultados negativos asociados a la medicación, requiriéndose la implementación de 40 intervenciones farmacéuticas, de las
cuales 39 resultaron ser aceptadas por los pacientes y facultativos. Las intervenciones implementadas sobre la cantidad de
medicamentos fueron las más prevalentes (57,5%), constituyendo la disminución de la dosis (56,5%) la acción terapéutica más
incidente, asociada fundamentalmente al fármaco glibenclamida. Las intervenciones realizadas permitieron la solución del 100%
de los resultados negativos asociados a la medicación y la prevención del 96% de las sospechas.5-11semestralAbstract
The aim of this paper is to describe pharmaceutical interventions implemented during the development of a pharmacotherapy
follow up service to 30 patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, assisted in the Principal Municipal Pharmacy Santiago de
Cuba, which was conducted through a prospective and intervention, in the period from November 2009 through February 2010,
following the methodology Dader date. It detected 40 suspicious and negative outcomes associated with the medication,
requiring the implementation of 40 pharmaceutical interventions, of which 39 were found to be accepted by patients and
physicians. The interventions implemented on the amount of drugs were the most prevalent (57.5%), constituting the lower dose
(56.5%) therapeutic action more incident associated fundamentally the drug glibenclamide. The interventions led to the
solution of 100% of the negative outcomes associated with medication and prevention of 96% of suspicions
