Statement of the problem. The central problem of this study was twofold: (1) to determine whether the educational research preparation offered by selected colleges and universities bore out the findings of critics, and (2) to synthesize and synergize opinions and facts regarding educational research, as expressed by men active in the field, into a flexible proposal whereby individual student\u27s programs in research preparation could be custom-made to suit their most obvious research needs.
