L’abandon par le CNRS de la publication des atlas linguistiques régionaux français a laissé en attente un grand nombre de données inédites et a empêché de compléter une collection commencée sous l’égide d’Albert Dauzat. Plusieurs initiatives ont tenté de pallier cette défection, c’est le cas avec la publication du dernier volume de l’Atlas de la Provence, pour lequel ont été mises en œuvre des techniques en cartographie linguistique bénéficiant des avancées des SIG.When the CNRS put an end to the publication of the collection of French regional linguistic atlases a large number of unpublished data were left on hold and the series inaugurated by Albert Dauzat could not be brought to completion. Several authors have endeavoured to overcome this gap, as is the case with the publication of the last volume of the Atlas of Provence, which has benefited from the advanced language mapping systems developed under the GIS technologies
