Anna lived in the USSR and used her poetry to fight against governmental oppression. In Anna's poems the persecution and personal tragedy she has suffered is evident, but through the dark and somber works there is still beauty. Using a World War II parachute, I juxtapose the feminine elements with a harsh military vibe to show how beauty can be seen when the feminine and the masculine merge.   119
