Composition of the essential oil of Abies koreana Wils.

Abstract

The volatile constituents of Abies koreana Wils. from Poland have been investigated by GC, GC-MS, H-1- and C-13-NMR. The essential oils were obtained by hydrodistillation of needles, twigs and cones, as well as twigs with needles, with yields of 1.0%, 0.64%, 0.42% and 0.83%, respectively. Eighty-four compounds were identified in the essential oil, which consisted mainly of monoterpenes, such as a-pinene, camphene, limonene and bornyl acetate, and sesquiterpenes such as intermedeol and the new (+)-(1R,4R,5R,7S)-guaia-10(14),11-diene.
