Od godine 1987. Promet u lukama Velikog (Tihog) oceana nadmašio je prvi put u povijesti primat luka na Atlantiku.
Velikooceanska privredna regija ostvaruje najveći kontejnerski promet.
Središte svjetskog gospodarstva prešlo je iz Atlantskog u Veliki ocean.In 1987 the maritime traffic in the ports of Great ocean surpassed for the first time in history a primacy of the Atlantic ports.
