Osobe koje se bave sportom, bilo profesionalno ili
rekreacijski, a imaju problema s kratkovidnošću,
dalekovidnošću ili astigmatizmom, nošenje naočala zbog
korekcije ovih problema može predstavljati veliki
problem. Bez obzira o kojem sportu se radi, nošenje
naočala bez trakice oko glave praktički je neizvedivo, a i
tada naočale mogu kliziti niz nos, naočalna se leća može
zamagliti, a rub naočala kod viših i visokih dioptrija
označava granicu vidnog polja sportaša. Cilj ovoga rada je
opis glavnih metoda koje se danas mogu primijeniti za
korekciju vida kod sportaša.
Kontaktne leće predstavljaju alternativu nošenju
naočala, a omogućuju bolju korekciju vidne oštrine kod
astigmatizma i keratokonusa. Dvije su glavne vrste leća:
mekane i polutvrde (tzv. plinopropusne) kontaktne leće i
mnogi daju prednost nošenju mekih kontaktnih leća, jer su
udobne za nošenje, ne mogu ispasti iz oka te, ukoliko se
higijena ruku i leća provodi na adekvatan način, praktički
je isključena mogućnost upale oka. Danas se vidna greška
može popraviti i laserskim skidanjem dioptrije ili
ugradnjom tzv. fakične leće u oko sportaša, ako se radi o
visokoj kratkovidnosti.
Trenutačno je najpopularnija metoda laserskog
skidanja dioptrije LASIK (laserska in-situ keratomileuza)
gdje se preciznim odstranjivanjem tkiva rožnice izravno
se optimiziraju optička svojstva oka. Metoda je sigurna i
bezbolna i omogućuje sportašu ne samo dobar vid, nego i
urednu širinu vidnog polja, što je posebno važno za
bavljenje bilo kojim sportom, jer osigurava bolji učinak i
štiti sportaša od mogućih ozljeda.
Mnogo poznatija metoda laserskog uklanjanja
dioptrije, unazad nekoliko godina nadopunjena je
metodom ugradnje fakične leće u prednju komoru oka.
Ovom metodom rješavaju se dioptrije svi oni koji zbog
previsoke dioptrije ili pretanke rožnice istu nisu mogli
laserski uklonitiAthletes, professionals or recreatives, who have

could have many problems while wearing glasses. Even
with the ribbon, glasses could slide down, lenses could get
blurred and glasses could limit the visual field of the
athletes. The aim of this paper was to describe the main
methods which athletes can use for vision correction.
Contact lenses were used as an alternative method
especially among athletes with problems such as the
astigmatism and with an irregular corneal curvature
(keratoconus).
There are two types of contact lenses: soft and rigid
gas-permeable (RGP) lenses or hard contact lenses. Many
athletes choose soft lenses because they are comfortable,
cannot easily fall out and they have very low risk of eye
infection if treated with care.
Today, for vision correction, there are two, more or
less permanent, methods – LASIK method and intraocular
implatation of phakic lenses.
Maybe the most popular method of the vision
correction today is LASIK, abbreviation standing for
laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, a kind of laser eye
surgery designed to change the shape of the cornea to
eliminate or reduce the need for glasses and contact
lenses. This method is safe and has advantages over other
vision correction procedures, including a relative lack of
pain after the procedure and the fact that good vision is
usually achieved by the very next day.
A few years ago, a new method had become even
more popular. It is based on intraocular implantation of
phakic lenses in the anterior chamber of the eye and it is
used for people with severe myopia or for people who
cannot correct their problem with LASIK
