Obzor u kojemu se u suvremenoj filozofiji promišlja umiranje i smrt
jest ontoantropoloski individualizam. On je inspiracijiski izvor i metafizički temelj novovjeke zapadnjačke civilizacije s osebujnom senzibilnošču za egzistencijalne probleme čovjekova individualnog postojanja. Nakon uvodnih poglavlja u kojima se promišlja neutraliziranje besmislenosti umiranja i smrti u \u27samorazumljivim\u27 kozmičkim i prirodnim zakonitostima nastajanja i nestajanja svega što jest, te reflektira iskustvo smrti u političko-državnoj zajednici kao \u27drugom kozmosu\u27, razmatra se smrt u obzoru probuđene i oslobođene individualnosti i egzistencijalne hermeneutike,
inspirirane fundamentalnom ontologijom, kako je zasnovana u
Heideggerovu djelu "Bitak i vrijeme". Razmatranje o smrti u suvremenoj filozofiji završava u znaku pitanja: je li zapadnjačka civilizacija, utemeljena na metafizičkom individualizmu, civilizacija smrti ili civilizacija života?The horizon, within which dying and death are considered in
contemporary philosophy, is ontoanthropological individualism. It is
an inspiration source and metaphysical foundation of modern
western civilization with distinct sensibility for existential problems of
man\u27s individual existence.
Introductory chapters consider the neutralization of absurdity of
dying and death in "selfcomprehensible" cosmic and natural laws of
appearing and disappearing of everything that exists, thus reflecting
the experience of death in a politically-national community as in
"another cosmos".
Then death is discussed in the horizon of awaked and released
indMduality and existential hermeneutics, inspired by fundamental
ontology, as it is based in Heidegger\u27s work "Being and Time".
The consideration of death in contemporary philosophy ends
with a question: is western cMlisation, based on metaphysical
individualism, the cMlization of death or the civilization of life
