Zaštitne prevlake bez sumnje su najrašireniji proizvod za zaštitu od korozije. Koriste se za dugotrajnu zaštitu različitih konstrukcija u dugom nizu korozijski agresivnih okoliša, počevši od atmosferskog izlaganja pa sve do najzahtjevnijih eksploatacijskih uvjeta u postrojenjima kemijske industrije. Činjenica da zaštitne prevlake, koje čine vrlo malen udjel u ukupnom volumenu cijele konstrukcije, čuvaju njezin integritet i osiguravaju mogućnost neometane eksploatacije, dovoljno govori o njihovoj važnosti. U radu su prikazani najvažniji postupci nanošenja polimernih prevlaka, koje se u posljednje vrijeme sve više primjenjuju u gotovo svim područjima, što se može objasniti intenzivnim razvojem novih polimernih materijala za prevlake, unapređivanjem tehnologija nanošenja te, u najvećoj mjeri, ekološkim prednostima tih postupaka. Također, u radu su dani mnogobrojni primjeri uporabe polimernih prevlaka za razna industrijska područja.Protective coatings are without any doubt most used products for corrosion protection. They are used for long-term protection of various structures in different corrosive environments - from atmospheric exposure to the most demanding conditions in chemical plants. The fact that protective coatings have a very small volume in comparison with the volume of the whole structure and yet preserve the integrity of the structure and make possible their exploitation without any problem in an optimal way is a clean indication of the importance of protective coatings. The present paper describes the most important processes of applying polymer coatings. Their use is increasing in almost any market area, which can be explained by the rapid development of new polymer materials for coatings, improved technologies of application, and, mostly, the ecological benefits of these processes.
