The main problems are related to manuscript editing and journal indexing, especially in terms of getting Clinical and Biomedical Research indexed in databases that previously included Revista HCPA. Many efforts have been done to solve both problems and we hope that throughout next year we will be able to fully recover some losses that occurred during this period

We are still facing some challenges during this transition period. The main problems are related to manuscript editing and journal indexing, especially in terms of getting Clinical and Biomedical Research indexed in databases that previously included Revista HCPA. Many efforts have been done to solve both problems and we hope that throughout next year we will be able to fully recover some losses that occurred during this period. However, despite these obstacles, an increasing number of high-quality manuscripts reporting the results of original research have been submitted to our journal. We are sure that our readers will appreciate the quality of the articles published in the present issue.  In addition, we have been intensively working to maintain a timely schedule of publication and a target number of manuscripts per issue with the purpose of achieving indexing in larger databases.    We are happy that Clinical and Biomedical Research is also reaching another goal: to cover many fields of medical and biomedical sciences.  In this third issue, we are publishing four articles of clinical research1, including a study conducted by international authors2 and four articles of basic and experimental research3.  Additionally, this issue also includes two review articles4, one about the management of severe traumatic brain injury conducted by a Spanish research group of intensive care medicine5.In addition to these reviews of the literature and original research articles, we are very proud of the two special articles published in this issue. Both of them deserve special attention. They suggest some intriguing insights about two different but important public health issues. Furthermore, they were authored by internationally renowned scientists in their respective fields. Professor Fuchs provides us with a thoughtful discussion on the current guidelines for the treatment of hypertension6. His profound clinical and research experience in this field is objectively and dynamically presented as a careful assessment of some flaws of current hypertension guidelines. It is a mandatory reading for those who treat hypertensive patients.Another article we are proud to present to our readers was written by Dr Tyrone Pitt7. Dr Pitt is a renowned microbiologist whose work significantly boosted the human knowledge on many areas of bacterial infectious diseases. Recently, he was honored with the designation of Acinetobacter pittii (formerly Acinetobacter genomic species 3), a major nosocomial pathogen species of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus–Acinetobacter baumannii complex, in recognition to his major contributions to microbiological science8 In this issue, he provides our readers with an insightful discussion on fecal transplantation, a relatively new approach to treat severe Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, a major topic for many medical areas, notably, gastroenterology, intensive care, and infectious diseases.We are certain that, as we continue to receive more submissions and publish more articles of high-quality scientific content, we will create a virtuous circle that will ultimately lead Clinical and Biomedical Research to become a prestigious  journal even before the targeted indexations.
