Single Stage sounding Rocket S-500

Abstract

A single stage sounding rocket S-500 is under development by Institute of Space and Aeronautical Science, University of Tokyo.It will cover 200-400 km altitude range as a substitute for the current K-9M and K-10 rockets. It can reach 350 km altitude with 100 kg net pavload. The launch weight is about 2100 kg and the total length is 7.8 m. The first flight is scheduled in early 1980
