Malaria that also causes a dangereus infectious disease for tourist in endemik areas is still an important health problem throughout the world. Especially P. falciparum malaria is an urgent disease because its fetal complicatious can develop rapidly. Because of this reason therapy should not be delayed and probability of drug resistance should not be overlooked during therapy. Chloroquin resistance in P. falciparum malaria that is a common problem in many malaria regions of the world might cause serious problem in therpy. In this paper a case of P. falciparum malaria resistant to chloroquine that had worked in Nigeria fora long time and was 39 age old is presented and the complications and problems in therapy are discussed

A Case of Plasmodium falciparum Malaria Detected Chloroquin Resistance and Problems in Therapy

Endemik olarak görüldüğü birçok bölgede turistler için de ciddi tehlike oluşturan malarya halen dünyanın önemli bir sağlık sorunudur. Özellikle P. falciparum malaryası ölümcül komplikasyonları hızla gelişebilen, aci-liyeti olan bir hastalıktır. Bu nedenle tedavide gecikilmemeli ve ilaç direnci gözardı edilmemelidir. P. falciparum malaryasında klorokin direnci dünyada birçpk malarya bölgesinin ortak sorunu olup tedavide ciddi bir problem oluşturabilir. Bu yazıda 39 yaşında Nijerya'da işçi olarak çalışan erkek hastada klorokine dirençli bir P. falciparum malarya olgusu sunularak, P. falciparum malaryasında komplikasyonlar ile tedavide direnç sorunu tartışılmıştır.Malaria that also causes a dangereus infectious disease for tourist in endemik areas is stili an important health problem throughout the world.
