APPROACHES AND PERSPECTIVES FOR MANAGING SCHEDULE IN PROJECTS: ANALYSIS OF TRADITIONAL AND AGILE METHODS

Abstract

One of the biggest problems faced in projects is related to deadlines. There are several causes related to delays in deliveries. The fact is that in relation to the schedule, its elaboration with wellestimated deadlines and its control, are essential to manage successfully the projects. The article is a literature review that aims to present the methods of schedule management about the traditional perspective and agile approach for the development of the schedule of projects. About eight points are discussed the schedule management methods, namely, human behavior; estimates of duration of activities; multitasking; deliver the projects on time; starting dates of the activities; critical chain and agile approach; delay of projects; and communication between the members of the project team. In addition, it is pointed out that the fundamentals of the Critical Chain Method go forward the time variable itself, because the method has an integrative perspective to approach schedule management in projects and considers other areas of project knowledge
