This study approaches the series Correspondence of Mário de Andrade, from the writer's archives at IEB-USP, presenting the subseries which compose it: active, passive and third-party correspondence. It focuses on documents which were chosen to exemplify the specificities and importance of each one. The paper also discusses the presence of epistolar dialogues with a meaninful not only for the Macunaima's author literaty creation, but for the prose, poetry, plastic arts, music and the Brazilian culture of the 20th century as well
