Combined treatment of arterial hypertension: focus on calcium antagonist and ACE inhibitor combination

Abstract

The benefits of arterial hypertension (AH) combined treatment are discussed. A combined medication, Tarka (calcium antagonist verapamil SR plus ACE inhibitor trandolapril), is used as an example to demonstrate high antihypertensive activity, metabolic neutrality, cardio- and nephroprotection. Not only Tarka components per se, but also their combination was effective in large clinical trials. Indications for this combined medication are presented
