Representations of Voice and Speech in Cinema

Abstract

From the analysis of three visual and hearing snippets of film - representing three decades, 60, 70 and 80, “City of God” directed by Fernando Meirelles in 2005 - this work investigates the role of interpretive resources of voice and speech, relating them to other scenic elements of language in order to advance the studies on the meanings produced by the supra-segmental aspects of human communication in art cinema, from the viewpoint of Speech Pathologist
