The main subject of the article is the functioning in translations of specific lexical items which are eponymisms based on proper names. The analyse of chosen examples leads to proposition of some possible translator’s strategies, one can use, while translating eponymisms. Finally, some attention is paid to important consequences of using a particular strategy.
