This was thought to be a choroidal mass, and the patient was referred to the retinal clinic. On fundoscopy a faint area of serpiginoid pallor was seen in the area of the lesion (Figure 1A), suggestive of a choroidal macrovessel. Indocyanine angiography (Figure 1B) confirmed the diagnosis, and swept source OCT was also undertaken (Figure 1C), which showed a large hyporeflective area in the choroid, corresponding with the lumen of the macrovessel.
