The quality of life of children in the nurseries in the city of Osijek

Abstract

When we are talking about the term of the quality of life, as well as of the researches on the same subject, most of the time we are analyzing the quality of life of the adults, adolescents or maybe school children. There is a need for a rate of the quality of small children's lives, especially of the children who still can't speak for themselves. Although the quality of preschool's, and especially very small children's lives can be brought down to a much lower number of factors than, for example, quality of an adult's life, they surely exist and are actually essential for healthy psychophysical development for each and every child. Because each child is unique on its own way, those factors must be adapted to the individual character and needs of each child. The aim of this study was to question and estimate the quality of small children’s lives based on the previous month of their lives. The research was conducted in three kindergartens using the Croatian version of the PedsQL™ 4.0 questionnaire for quality of life examinations of children and teenagers – reports of parents about small children (age 2-4)
