The Geology of Arizona; Its Energy Resources and Potential

Abstract

Arizona sits astride two major geologic provinces, the Colorado Plateau to the north and the Basin and Range to the south and west. The provinces are characterized by quite different stratigraphic framework and structural patterns, and are separated by a narrow area of transition which is commonly considered a third structural province called the Transition Zone or Central Mountain Region.Documents in the AZGS Documents Repository collection are made available by the Arizona Geological Survey (AZGS) and the University Libraries at the University of Arizona.
