Abstract
Požari u šumskim ekosustavima ne čine štetu samo gubitkom drvne mase, već katastrofu uništavanjem čimbenika koji obitavaju na tom prostoru. Cilj ovog rada je prijedlog mjera zaštite od požara na području JU NP Plitvička jezera koji se temelji na preventivnim mjerama motrena u mjesecima povećane opasnosti i izračunu potrebnog broja ljudstva za gašenje požara.Fires in forest ecosystems don't only harm with loss of wood mass, but with the catastrophe of damaging the factors that habit in the area. The aim of this paper is to propose fire protection measures on the grounds of Plitvice Lakes National Park which is based upon preventive measures observed in the months of increased danger and the calculation of the needed number of people required to extinguish the fire
