Influence of different type of artificial lighting on germination and germination energy of tomato and pepper

Abstract

Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi utjecaj LED i FLUO osvjetljenja na klijavost i energiju klijanja, te na masu i visinu klijanaca rajčice i paprike. U pokusu je korišteno sjeme rajčice (Kecskemeti-407) i paprike (Slonovo uho). Klijanje i energija klijanja ispitani su pomoću standardnog laboratorijskog postupka u laboratoriju za Povrćarstvo, cvjećarstvo, ljekovito i začinsko bilje na Poljoprivrednom fakultetu u Osijeku. Masa i visina klijanaca zabilježeni su na kraju testiranja. Statistička analiza podataka pokazala je da osvjetljenje značajno utječe na visinu klijanaca. Kod rajčice i kod paprike klijanci su postigli znatno veću visinu pod FLUO osvjetljenjem. Kod mase, klijavosti i energije klijanja nisu zabilježene značajnije razlike kod različitog tipa osvjetljenja.The aim of this study was to determine the influence of the LED and FLUO lighting on the germination and germination energy and on weight and height of seedlings of tomato and pepper. In this experiment, seeds of tomato (Kecskemeti-407) and pepper (Elephant ear) was used. The germination and germination energy was determined by standard laboratory procedure in a Laboratory for Vegetables, Flowers, Medicinal and Spice Herbs at the Faculty of Agriculture in Osijek. The weight and height of seedlings was measured at the end of the experiment. Statistical analysis of data showed that different lighting significantly effect on height of seedlings of both tomato and pepper. Seedlings of tomato and pepper were significantly higher under the FLUO lamps. However, no significant difference between LED and FLUO lamps was observed when measuring all other investigated parameters
