Abstract

Rad obuhvaća utjecaj pušenja duhana na imunosni sustav općenito, na utjecaj imunosnog sustava majke i djeteta u trudnoći i utjecaj na pojedine bolesti uzrokovane poremećajem funkcioniranja imunosnog sustava (alergije, reumatoidni artritis, ulcerozni kolitis). Osim problematike štetnih utjecaja pušenja na razne komponente urođenog i stečenog imuniteta, rad sadrži i rezultate istraživanja o potencijalnim terapijskim učincima nikotina, te osvrt na nutritivni status pušača.This paper describes the effects of tobacco smoking on the immune system in general, the impact on the immune system of mother and child during pregnancy and impact on specific diseases caused by disorders of imunne system (allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis). In addition to the problem of adverse effects of smoking on the various components of innate and adaptive immunity, this paper presents the results of research on the potential therapeutic effects of nicotine, and review of the nutrtitional status of smokers
