The waste heat re-covery from the SGT-500 SIEMENS gas turbineutilized on the Draugen platform (Kristiansund)is investigated. Three possible technologies areconsidered: the air bottoming cycle (ABC), theorganic Rankine cycle (ORC) and the steamRankine cycle (SRC). When alow fire hazard is required carbon dioxide is thepreferable media (case b). The ABC exhibitsthe lowest overall efficiency (35.8%) due to thehigh outlet ABC turbine temperature (220°C).
