Abstract
The research of vascular flora of northeastern part of island Cres was carried out during 2006, 2007 and 2008. 329 taxa from 219 genera and 70 families was found on the area range 15 km2. The most abundant families are: Poaceae (10.94%), Fabaceae (9.11%) and Lamiaceae (6.99%). Analysis of life forms showed that hemycryptophyta are dominant (40%), followed by therophyta (26%), phanerophyta (12%), chamaephyta (10%) and geophyta (9%). There were the least epiphyta, hydrophyta and parazites (together 3%). Phytogeographical analysis showed that widespread plants are dominant, with 18% of taxa, followed by Circum - Mediterranean plants (16%) and South European – Mediterranean plants (15%). Ecological analsys only confirmed the submediterranean caractheristics of the area. On the researched area 19 endemic taxa were found, as well as 1 species with a very high extincion risk, one with a high extincion risk, 8 nearly threatened species, 42 protected and 23 strictly protected species
