Determining parameters during municipal wastewater biological treatment in batch process

Abstract

Cilj ovog rada bio je odrediti odgovarajuće parametre na uzorcima komunalne otpadne vode južnog Zagreba tijekom procesa biološkog pročišćavanja u šaržnom bioreaktoru. Praćenjem promjena parametara koji su dobiveni fizikalno-kemijskim analizama dobivena je predodžba o potrebnom vremenu za pročišćavanje komunalnih otpadnih voda u laboratorijskom šaržnom bioreaktoru s aktivnim muljem. Određivane su koncentracije amonijaka, nitrita, nitrata, kemijska potrošnja kisika (KPK), biokemijska potrošnja kisika (BPK5), koncentracija otopljenog kisika, te koncentracija biomase preko indeksa mulja. Uzorci četiri najbolje ocijenjena procesa prikazani su grafički i tablično. Analize i proračun kinetičkih parameatra pokazali su da se glavnina procesa odvija u prva dva sata.The aim of this research was to determine adequate parameters of municipal wastewater samples of south Zagreb during biological treatment process in a batch bioreactor. Monitoring of the parameters development which were found by physico-chemical analyses, conception of required time for municipal wastewater treatment in laboratory batch bioreactor is gained. Concentration of ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, chemical oxygen dissolving, biochemical oxygen dissolving, concentration of dissolved oxygen and concentration of biomass (by measuring sludge index) has been determined. Samples of four batch experiments which were evaluated as the best, were presented by tables and charts. Analyses and outlay of kinetic parameters prove that the major of process is taken within two hours
