Entrepreneurial management and organization of milk production at Jakobovac farm

Abstract

The Jakobovac Farm cooperates with the group Vupik d.d. in the cattle industry. Vupik d.d. has been operating in the Agrokor Group since 2010. Vupik grows pig farms and farms for milk production that become increasingly important raw material for Agrokor's processing capacities. The reconstruction of the sheep farm "Jakobovac" was realized on the cp. 2 / 3 k.o. Grabovo. On the Jakobovac farm there are 995 cows, of which 763 are in milking, and the rest are cows in dry period (194) and cows in veterinary treatment. Daily milk delivery is about 17,500 to 18,000 lit, and about 7 million liters per year. The production groups are located in 5 stables, divided by production capacities. Each stables has 2 halves per 116 berths. The Holstein breed of cattle is grown on the Jakobovac farm.Milk and dairy products supply the body with essential nutrients. When we drink milk, we intake small amount of calories and a lot of other necessary substances. The economic results of milk production depend on the relationship between milk yield per cow, then the cost per unit of product, sales price and net profit level. Food production levels are affected by the height of production, the price of food and the share of other costs. The basic goal of managing the cost of a farm is to achieve the long-term benefit and to achieve a certain strategic managerial goa - with the lowest costs without long-term negative consequences on the business outcome and the competitive position of the farm
