Influence of pH of nutrition media on growth of Sclerotium cepivorum

Abstract

The fungus Sclerotium cepivorum is soil and facultative parasite that causes great damage to Allium species. The causative agent of white rot of onion and garlic. The aim oft his study was to determine the infuence of temperature and pH on the growth oft he mycelium fungus Sclerotium cepivorum. The experiment was performed in vitro with four repetitions. The fungus was grown at temperatures of 15, 22 and 30 °C, using 24 hours of light and dark at a pH 5.5, 6.5, 8.0 PDA substrate. Mycelium growth was measured three times over ten days. Mycelium successfully developed at 15 and 22 °C and all pH values and the mycelium at a temperature of 30 °C and the pH values of all substrate is not developed
