Abstract
Određivanje položaja broda na moru uvijek je bilo jedno od najzahtjevnijih radnji i po znanju i po tehnici koja se pri tom primjenjivala, a sve to ne bi bilo moguće bez pomorske navigacijske karte. Tijekom vremena od trenutka izdanja karte dolazi do promjena na morskom dnu, pa se te promijene moraju unositi na kartu u svrhu sigurnosti plovidbe taj proces se naziva ažuriranje pomorske karte. Ispravke izdaje državni hidrografski institut putem Oglasa za pomorce. U današnjem suvremenom svijetu su se razvile elektroničke navigacijske karte (Electronic Navigation Chart - ENC), koje uvelike olakšavaju rad časnicima, pa zbog toga njihova uporaba rapidno raste u navigacijskoj praksi, a razlozi su razumljivi arhiviranje, aktiviranje i ispravljanje mnogo je jednostavnije. Budući da su prema Međunarodnoj konvenciji o zaštiti života na moru (Safety Of Life At Sea – SOLAS) svi brodovi dužni imati adekvatne i ažurirane pomorske karte potrebna je suradnja između razvijenih i nerazvijenih obalnih država u prikupljanju što više bitnih nautičkih informacija i da te informacije budu dostupne na svjetskim razmjerima putem nautičkih publikacija.Determination of position on the sea was one of the most demanding operations by the knowledge and the technique thereby is applied, and all of that wouldn't be possible without navigational chart. During the time since the chart was issued changes occurred on the sea bottom, these changes must be entered on the nautical chart for the purpose of safety of navigation, and that process is called „updating nautical charts“. Corrections are issued by state Hydrographic Institute and published in the Notice to Mariners. In today's modern world they have developed (Electronic Navigation Chart - ENC), that greatly facilitate the work of officers, so their using is rapidly growing in navigation practice, and the reasons are understandable archiving and updating is much easier. According to the (Safety Of Life At Sea – SOLAS) Convention, all ships are required to have adequate and up-to-date navigational charts, it is necessary to cooperate between developed and undeveloped coastal states in collecting as much relevant nautical information as possible and that this information is available on a worldwide scale through nautical publications
