English nasal consonants in the pronunciation of Polish learners

Abstract

This paper was published as part of the Festschrift in honour of Professor Arabski’s anniversary. Since Professor Arabski is one of the most important figures in both the history of our Institute and my own academic career, I consider it as the best possible contribution to this volume. The paper describes the typical realisations of English nasal consonants by Poles, illustrating the scale of negative transfer from L1 into the interlanguage of the learners
