The book collects texts of different types: cross-sectional sketches,
critical portraits, interviews a as well as laudations of great poets
and writers. It is a meeting with a historio-literary varietas, and faces
privatized (personal) past of a reading. The 20th century literature,
seen in fragments, shreds or reflections, is, thus, becoming a map of
possible peregrinations and meetings. The author does not conceal
that the nature of reading is looking for important meanings regardless
of time. That is why, combining authors of different generations,
schools and poetics, the author tries to see them in a joint experience
of reality and literature. It is also a personal book as it refers to
outstanding figures of the Polish literary culture the author met or
