Z ilu części składa się “Słowo i ciało”?

Abstract

The purpose of the present paper is to present the model of the plot of Teodor Parnicki’s novel. The work comprises of two collections of letters - those w ritten by Osroes, and those w ritten by someone claiming to be Markia. Usually the novel itself or both of its parts were interpreted as coherent unity on the basis of which one can present statements regarding narration or the vision of reality. In the presented m odel I have distinguished five parts. Each of them represents different fictional, rhetorical and epistemological assumptions, which, according to H. White’s works, influence one another. Depending on political and existential situation of the author of the letters, the categories of analysis of historical work (which were distinguished by the author of Metahistory) change. The model proposed here enables us to look upon Parnicki’s novel as a study of historical narration - thus the goal is no longer a presentation of yet another story, but an exploration of the ways the stories are created
