Abstract

This paper surveys the contribution that recent developments in theory and empirical research in technical change have made to the understanding of the problem. In particular, the paper surveys the contributions in the microeconomics of technical change. It is argued that this area has been strongly influenced by J. Schumpeter and his theory of innovation
