Žargon supkultura

Abstract

This thesis describes a special bond created between the members of various subcultures and the language they use. Special jargon expressions can be associated with particular marginal social groups. There are four major subcultures discussed in this thesis with a special reference to the jargon expressions they use in their everyday communication. These subcultures are: football hooligans subculture, heavy metal subculture, biker subculture, and homebrewers subcultures. What connects these four groups is the abundance of the jargon expressions they operate with. In order to use jargon appropriately, one must acknowledge the difference between the jargon and the slang, so that this issue will be taken up in the thesis as well
