Assessment of dormancy and after-ripening in population of recombinant inbreed lines

Abstract

Priježetveno proklijavanje negativno utječe na prinos i kvalitetu zrna pšenice. Glavne komponente otpornosti na priježetveno proklijavanje su dormantnosost zrna u žetvenoj zriobi i brzina gubitka dormantnosti tijekom posliježetvenog dozrijevanja U provedeno istraživanje je bilo uključeno 120 rekombinantnih inbred linija (RIL) ozime pšenice i dvije roditeljske sorte, različite otpornosti na priježetveno proklijavanje, koji su uzgajani 2015/16. godine u pokusu postavljenom prema slučajnom bloknom rasporedu u dvije repeticije na lokaciji Zagreb-Botincec. Pomoću testova klijavoti s ovršenim zrnima u žetvenoj zriobi i tijekom perioda posliježetvenog dozrijevanja, procijenjena je dormantnost zrna kod 120 RIL potomstava. U RIL populaciji je opaženo transgresivno razdvajanje uglavnom u smjeru slabije izražene dormantnosti. Uzorak posliježetvenog dozrijevanja je bio različit kod ispitivanih RIL potomstava s izraženom nekonzistentnošću između krivulja energije klijanja i klijavosti. Simulirana selekcija na dormanost zrna u RIL populaciji uvjetovala je smanjenje visine biljke, kao i kasnije nastupanje klasanja.Preharvest sprouting negatively affects the yield and quality of wheat grain. The main components of resistance to sprouting are the grain dormancy at harvest maturity and the rate of loss of dormancy during the postharvest ripening. The study involved 120 recombinant inbred lines (RIL) of winter wheat and two parental varieties difering in preharvest sprouting resistance, which were grown in 2015/16. in a field trial set up as randomized complete block design in two repetitions at the Zagreb-Botincec site. By using the germination tests with treshed grain in the harvest period and during the postharvest maturation period, grain dormancy was estimated at 120 RIL subspecies. In the RIL population was observed transgressive segregation, mainly in the sense of weaker expressive dormancy. The pattern of postharvest maturation was different in the investigated RIL subspecies with the pronounced inconsistency between the germination and germination energy curves.
