Hydrogeological characteristics of Blidinje Nature park : master’s thesis

Abstract

The topic of the research is Blidinje Nature Park, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim of the study is to provide an insight into the basic hydrogeological characteristics of the terrain and to identify interesting hydrogeological areas suitable for the future withdrawal of the water. Field research has been carried out from June to September 2017. As a result in ArcGIS Desktop 10. 1, the hydrogeological map of Blidinje Nature Park was created and hydrogeological profiles were selected. On the map, the hydrogeological units are separated on the basis of their lithological structures, type and position within the terrain, which also determines their hydrogeological function: well-permeable, permeable, variably permeable and impermeable. The profiles were created in AutoCAD 2016 in two selected locations: near the Blidinje lake and the Brčanj field. The profiles show the lithological deposits with hydrogeological function and the visible existence of the permeable layers from which water could be captured with adequate protection of surface and groundwater
