Potential Application of Drones in Commercial Purposes

Abstract

Tehnologija bespilotnih letjelica (ili dronova – izraz koji će se koristiti u ovom diplomskom radu) prvotno je napravljena radi vojne upotrebe te kako bi olakšala izvođenje i egzekuciju vojnih akcija. Primjera radi, od akcija bombardiranja sa sigurne udaljenosti preko logističke pomoći pa sve do akcija špijunaže i nadzora samih područja zaraćenih zemalja. Vremenom su ljudi shvatili da se tehnologija bespilotnih letjelica može efikasno iskoristiti i u civilne svrhe kako bi se poboljšala kvaliteta života i rasteretilo određene djelatnosti koje je do tada čovjek sam morao osobno obavljati. Danas je upotreba dronova uobičajena stvar u komercijalnim djelatnostima poput dostave paketa, praćenja prometa, nadzora granica te različitih pregleda i inspekcija nedostupnih infrastruktura, a potencijali primjene dronova u budućnosti su gotovo neograničeni. U ovom diplomskom radu tema dronova je obrađena kroz sistematizirani pregled značajki i mogućnosti bespilotnih letjelica koji su u trenutnoj upotrebi s ciljem detektiranja djelatnosti unutar civilnog sektora gdje bi njihova upotreba potencijalno pomogla i rasteretila potrebe za angažmanom ljudi. Naglasak istraživanja u diplomskom radu je analiza upotrebe dronova u civilne svrhe, od njihovog nastanka preko razvoja do pregleda zakonskih regulativa bez kojih je upotreba dronova u praksi nemoguća.The technology of unmanned aerial vehicles (or drones – a term that will be used in this graduate thesis) was originally designed for military use and to facilitate the execution of military actions. For example, from bombing operations from safe distance through logistical assistance to spyware and surveillance actions in the areas of the warring countries themselves. Over time, people realized that unmanned aviation technology can also be used efficiently for civilian purposes in order to improve the quality of life and relieve certain activities that the man had to do in by himself. Today, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles is the most normal thing in commercial activities such as package delivery, traffic monitoring, border controls, and various inspections of inaccessible infrastructure, further more, the potential use of drones in future is almost unlimited. In this graduate thesis the topic is elaborated through a systematic overview of the characteristics and capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles that are currently in use with the aim of detecting activities within the civil sector where their use potentially helps and relieves need of human involvement. The emphasis of research in graduate thesis is the analysis of the use of drones for civil purposes, from their emergence through development to the examination of legal regulations without which the use of drones in practice is impossible
