This paper examines the phenomenon of heat distribution on the disk brake
while braking. Heat distributions on brake disk are caused by changes a kinetic
energy to mechanical energy. The energy changes occur during the process of
braking due to friction between the surfaces of the disc with a caliper pad. Friction
also resulted in increment temperature is high enough. This phenomenon is very
important to learn to be able to know the characteristic of the heat distribution
occurs on the disc with a disc type of ventilation and full. In addition to the disc
type disc study also aimed to find out the impact load vehicle on disc temperature
during the process of braking. The purpose of this research is to analyze the
thermal behavior on brake discs of disc brake of vehicles and ventilation using
ANSYS CFX. Modeling of heat distribution on the disk brake is used for
modeling 3-D. The results of this simulation study are used to identify the
influence of difference model of discs namely ventilated and non-ventilated types
as well as vehicle load to the distribution of heat that occurs during the process of
braking.
