Educational Expenditure of Family Finances in Post-"Bubble" Prosperity

Abstract

What we called Bubble Prosperity began in the end of 1986,and ended in 1992. People had bought goods of higher grade in the times, and expenditure per household increased. Expenditures on education increased in particular. But consumers\u27 behavior changed in post-Bubble Prosperity, and people came to prefer cheaper goods. Expenditures on education decreased significantly in 1993. But those who bring up their children feel heavier burden than ever with expenditures on education in post-Bubble Prosperity. In this paper, I tried to give the explanation of this contradiction. Though expenditures on education per household with children decreased, psychologically people spend money as largely as possible for education of their children
