High School of Music in Palembang is a college level, music educational institution, especially in the Palembang City, in order to create music art scholars who are competent on their tract. High School of Music in Palembang consist of several facilities including theoritical and practical classes, studios, music laboratories, libraries, auditorium, offices, mini exhibition, music marts, canteens, sport fields, and so on. All these facilities are accommodated in four building masses. This High School of Music has several benefits, including: as a place to educate college music education, create competent students of music performance and production, then as a place to show abilities of music performance and production. The theme that applied to the design of this Music High School is “Melody”. This theme was choosen because melody is the most important element of music, so the theme mean that students can go on process within a certain period of time through training and musical experience from the most important elements, where melody is the most important element. This theme is applied in the building through the shape concept of treble cleff methapors with contemporary styles
