The purpose of this research are (1) to find out the distribution and
distribution pattern of traditional markets, (2) to find of the level of services of
traditional markets, and (3) to find out the performance of traditional markets in
Boyolali Regency year of 2012.
This research uses descriptive with the combination of quantitative and
qualitative method. The study population was all traditional markets in Boyolali
which is under the management of the Department of Industry and Trade
(Disperindag). The sampling technique used is stratified random sampling by
taking a sample of 8 traditional market and quota sampling for sample selection
of traditional market traders as much as 96 traders. Data collection techniques
used are documentation of data related traditional traders, field observations to
perform traditional markets plotting locations using GPS (Global Positioning
System), and interviews with traditional market traders. The analysis technique
used is the analysis of spatial, nearest-neighbour parameter analysis, the market
service level with modifications to the scoring, and cross-table analysis.
The result of this research are : 1) The distribution of traditional market in
Boyolali Regency on 2012 is mostly in Boyolali Sub-District, that is 5 markets
(14,28%), 4 markets (11,43%) in Banyudono Sub-District, and 3 markets in
Wonosegoro Sub-District from the total markets in Boyolali Regency. The
traditional market distribution pattern in Boyolali is in group with T value = 0,91.
The traditional market in Boyolali groups especially arround in Boyolali SubDistrict, which is the center of government and also high of density. 2) Service
levels Boyolali traditional market in serving the needs of the community is quite
diverse ranging from low to high level of service. The majority of traditional
markets in the level of service Boyolali the category of being a market 19
(54.29%), a total of 9 traditional market (25.71%) had a high level of service and
market a number of 7 (20%) had a level of service that is low. 3) It is known
traditional markets in Boyolali that performs well is Sunggingan Market, Cepogo
Market, and Kebon Agung Market; that performs moderate is Kacangan Market,
Mojosongo Market, and Ngancar Market; while performing bad is Kembang
Market and Ketitang Market.
