Participants will engage with findings and implications of two research projects that explore environments promoting academic and personal success among students of color in a Predominantly White Institution (PWI). These environments can be described as cultural counterspaces that, like the warm room in a cold house, provide alternative opportunities for students of color to be comfortable and supported within an otherwise challenging campus environment.
