ABSTRACT
Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious infectious disease remains a public
health problem in the world, including Indonesia. The purpose of this study is the
extension to the known effectiveness of SMS in the PMO method to change the
attitude and behavior of pulmonary TB drug compliance.
Quassy this study with an experimental design with two group post-test
approach to design. The research was conducted in January 2013 with a sample
of 30, divided 15 experimental group and 15 control group. The independent
variable is the extension method on PMO SMS. The dependent variable is the
attitude of pulmonary TB drugs and medication adherence behavior of pulmonary
tuberculosis. A questionnaire designed to measure attitudinal variables and the
validity and reliability tests before use. Data were analyzed with the Wilcoxon
test.
The results showed Counseling by SMS on PMO effective methods to
change attitudes about the Pulmonary TB drugs in health centers with proven
Wilcoxon attitude variable obtained a significant value of 0.02, which means p

Wilcoxon test on behavioral variables obtained significant value of 0.046 which

It is recommended for health centers that extension with the SMS method
in which PMO warning when taking medication is an effective way to improve
patient adherence attitudes and behavior of pulmonary tuberculosis in pulmonary
tuberculosis medicine, therefore it is a very good way applied to all existing
pulmonary TB patients .
