Els investigadors Meike Köhler i Salvador Moyà, de l'Institut Català de Paleontologia (ICP-UAB), han donat a conèixer els resultats d'una recerca molt innovadora en el camp de la paleontologia. Mitjançant l'ús de tècniques paleohistològiques han pogut inferir la fisiologia d'espècies extingides.
