En mayo de 2006 tuvo lugar un brote racista en un pequeño barrio del norte de Tenerife. Algunos vecinos se manifestaron contra la llegada de niños inmigrantes a un albergue de la Cruz Roja, en el que se iban a alojar provisionalmente debido a la falta de instalaciones más apropiadas. El artículo analiza el seguimiento que los tres periódicos más importantes de la provincia hicieron a los acontecimientos desde sus páginas de información. El estudio revela que dos de los periódicos adoptaron actitudes comprensivas con los manifestantes.In May 2006 a racist outbreak took place in a small neighbourhood on the North of Tenerife. Some locals demonstrated against the arrival of immigrant children to a Red Cross lodging at which they were going to stay provisionally due to the lack of better facilities. The article analyzes the follow-up of the event in the information pages of three of the most important newspapers of the province. Our analysis reveals that two of the newspapers adopted a sympathetic attitude towards the demonstrators
